In Part one of the AutoCAD 2-Dimensional Computer Aided Design - Level 1 – Beginners course, you will first get to know the AutoCAD working environment and change some system settings so that they match the lessons. You will then begin creating objects using the Line command, learning the many varied ways in which AutoCAD can create objects using it. You will then be shown how to plot your first drawing, and then carry on with the Rectangle command; you will be shown how to create Rectangles using various methods.

Lesson five will show you how to use Object Snaps, one of the best features within AutoCAD, the Object Snaps allow you to specify precise locations on any object. You will then progress on to creating a Master Template which will have your printer’s settings and various Line types and Layers added to it. The final lesson in Part one returns to the Line command and will show you some added features you can then use to practice on some example drawings.
After you have completed Part one of the course, you will have the skills and knowledge to create many different objects in 2-dimensional space.
